Henry “H.C.” Needham, 79, of Dix, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 13, 2025.
He was born January 5, 1946, in Williford, Arkansas, the son of Mervin Elza and Emma Sue (Lampley) Needham. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, and quiet strength. On June 9, 1967, he married Melody Tooley, and she survives.
H.C. was a member of Panther Fork Baptist Church and worked for General Motors for thirty years. He loved working with his hands—always building, fixing, or tinkering with something useful. He found joy in the woods while hunting, and peace in the pews of his church, where he was known as the candy man who offered candy to everyone he met. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his loving wife, Melody Needham of Dix, he is survived by his sons, Henry (Trung) Tieu of New York, Matthew (Alice) Needham of Champaign, Illinois, and David (Alyscia) Needham of Champaign, Illinois; and six grandchildren who adored him, Elizabeth Needham, Serah Needham, Rachel Needham, Hannah Needham, Daniel Needham, and Benji Needham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Mervin Needham, and siblings, Lorene Martin, Willy Needham, Lawrence Needham, and Sarah Bell Needham.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites for Mr. Needham have been accorded, and no public services will be held. Online condolences may be made at www.osbornfuneral.com, or on the Osborn Funeral Home Facebook page.
