Police Beat for Thursday, June 13th, 2024

Four people were taken to the Marion County Jail on outstanding warrants.

33-year-old Cameron Jones of Kent Street in Centralia was being held on a no bond felony failure to appear warrant for unlawful use of weapons after being arrested by Centralia Police.

47-year-old Jared Royle, who told Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies he was homeless, was taken to the Marion County jail on a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant on pending charges of obstructing justice and criminal damage to property.  Bond is set at $5,000.

43-year-old Jeffrey Wood of North Walnut in Centralia was arrested by Wamac Police on a no bond major traffic warrant.

43-year-old Tiffany Carpenter of South Washington in Salem was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on a family case warrant.   She post $1,000 bond and was released.

Initial information indicate an Iowa truck driver escaped injury in a crash on I-57 at mile marker 126 near Kinmundy around three Thursday morning.  Sheriff’s Department reports indicate the truck was northbound when the rig crossed the median and southbound lanes before running into a field on the other side of the interstate and overturning on its side.  The driver was out of his vehicle before emergency help arrived.  State Police is investigating the crash.
