Carol Hilborn, age 71 of Carlyle, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
Carol was born in Belleville, IL, on November 5, 1953, a daughter of Frank and Olivia (Duke) Czarnecki. She married Clarence “Dugie” Hilborn, Jr., on November 5, 1971, at St. Mary’s Church, and he preceded her in death on June 19, 2000.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Mary Hilborn; one sister, Kathy Czarnecki; and a brother, Dwayne Czarnecki and wife, Linda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence “Dugie” Hilborn, Jr.; her in-laws, Flora and Bud Hilborn; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Culver.
Carol was a Certified Nurse Assistant at Breese Nursing Home for 25 years until her retirement. She was dedicated to her work and took pride in caring for others. Carol had a special place in her heart for Madison, Camden, Piper, and Carter Leath, who brought her much happiness. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
