It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Pulley, of Mt. Vernon, who departed this world peacefully on Thursday, May 29th, 2025. Born in Portland, Indiana, on Thursday, September 2nd, 1948, Sharon lived a life full of love, dedication, and warmth.
Sharon married Kent Pulley on December 24, 1977, in Muncie, Indiana, and he survives her along with her three children: Athena Strunk (Daryl) of Ohio, Kenneth Pulley (Bethany) of Kentucky, and David Pulley (Liz) of Walnut Hill.
Sharon is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Brittany Neal, Charles Donoho, Anthony Donoho, Jacob Pulley, Allen Pulley, Noah Pulley and Mattie Pulley; great-grandchildren, Paxton Donoho, Nicholas Donoho, Emberlee Donoho and Skyla Donoho, one brother, Charles Derringer of Missouri and one sister, Judy Yovanovitch of Pennsylvania.
Sharon was predeceased by her cherished parents, Robert and Anna Derringer, as well as her four brothers and a sister, with whom she shared countless treasured memories.
Throughout her life, Sharon made a significant impact on all who knew her. She worked diligently as a secretary, where her exceptional organizational skills, kindness, and keen sense of responsibility. Her professional life was marked by a steadfast dedication and a genuine pleasure in assisting and connecting with others.
Family was always the cornerstone of Sharon’s existence, and she generously poured her time, love, and energy into the people she cared for the most. Her family meant everything to her, and the warmth of her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Funeral Services for Sharon will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 12:00 pm at The Rock Church in Centralia, located at 515 Airport Road in Centralia, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church. Pastor Steve Upchurch and Addison Sharpe will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to honor Sharon’s enduring legacy and her unwavering dedication to her family, which will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801.
