Salem Township Hospital has a new President/CEO.

Interim President Lisa Ambuehl announced at the conclusion of Wednesday’s hospital board meeting that James Timpe, MS, RT has been hired for the position effective Monday.

“He is coming from another critical access hospital in Illinois.  He was formerly at Litchfield.  He has 5 year CEO experience at Litchfield and 10 year total hospital experience.  So we are looking forward to him starting Monday.  Him and his family will be moving to Salem, and we will be glad to have him.”

Timpe has a Masters of Science from Northwestern University in Evanston.  He has health care leadership in Operations including Radiology, Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation, Sleep Lab and EEG.

Timpe was selected following a nationwide search by the hospital board to replace Alex Nazarian who earlier left the hospital.

Ambuehl will assist with the transition and will be returning to her old position of Chief Nursing Officer.
