The Salem Wildcats will head to their first Sectional Tournament today since 2017 when they head to the Triad, ironically it was the scene of their last post season run this deep. Salem is 18-18 on the season after winning the Salem 3a regional over Effingham 7-2 on Saturday. They take on the 27-6 Highland Bulldogs coming off a 3-0 shutout win over the hosts to win the Waterloo Regional. Game time is set for 2pm and you can listen on 100.1 FM or online at WJBDradio.com. The winner advances to Saturday’s Sectional final against the winner of today’s 2nd semifinal between Mascoutah and Marion.
In 4a Sectional play, Edwardsville and Alton will play at Father McGivney this afternoon in Glen Carbon with the winner advancing to Illinois Wesleyan to take on either Normal Community or Bradley Bourbonnais.
