Nancy S. Deomes passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 22, after celebrating 86 years of life on the 19th of May.
Born May 19, 1939, to Ernest and Georgia (Taylor) Manns, Nancy was one of ten siblings.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie C. Deomes, whom she married in Las Vegas on May 23, 1964. They were one day away from celebrating 61 years of marriage. Other survivors include her children: Sherlita (Deomes) LeGrand and husband Daniel, Pamela “PJ” (Deomes) LaBelle, Jason Deomes, and Jimmie Deomes and wife Megan; former daughter-in-law, Mandy (Dodd) Deomes; siblings, Dean Manns, Clifford Manns, Jimmy Manns and Shirley Manns Jose. She was “Grandma” to her grandchildren, Travis LeGrand, Jessica LeGrand and Doug Kent, Stacey (Robert) LeGrand, Alexis (JJ) Park, Alyssa Deomes, Domonic (Becca) Deomes, Madison LaBelle, Lillian LaBelle (who was her puzzle partner) and Lukas Deomes; she was “Gigi” to her great-grandchildren, Wei Wei, Lu Ming, Daisy, Rose, Iris Kent, Atlas Deomes, Eden Deomes and Artemis Park.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Georgia Manns; siblings, Bill, Donnie, Betty, Doris, and her very best friend through life, Judy.
Before retiring in 2002, Nancy worked at Centralia High School, where she made long-lasting friendships, especially with Faye Webster. She had a love for books, Frank Sinatra, and all things musical. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to dance with Jimmie in the kitchen. She loved to bake and share her chocolate chip cookies with everyone.
Visitation services for Nancy will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Funeral services will take place after the visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. In memory of Nancy, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
