The class 3a Regionals open up at Salem today with the first semifinal featuring the Effingham Hearts taking on fellow Apollo foe Charleston. The winner will take on tomorrow’s winner between Salem and Mattoon in Saturday’s championship.
Also today in 3a regional semifinal, Mt Zion plays Springfield at Chatham, Mascoutah and Civic Memorial play at Jerseyville followed by the hosts and Triad. Marion hosts Herrin and Highland and East St Louis play at Waterloo.
