It was regional championship day on Saturday around the state in 1a/2a softball. In 1a, Odin/Patoka/Sandoval dropped their game with the hosts at Edwards County 14-0. Christ Our Rock was nipped by Okawville in Okawville 6-4, Altamont lost to Windsor/Stew-Stras at Hutsonville 12-1.
Today in 1a title games, Valmeyer will host Marissa.
In 2a championships on Saturday, Anna won at home over West Frankfort 6-0, Carterville beat Murphsyboro at Zeigler 3-2, Pinckneyville lost to the hosts at Johnston City 6-0.
Today is the 3a regional openers. Freeburg and Jerseyville play at Bethalto followed by Mascoutah and Civic Memorial. At East St Louis, the hosts take on Cahokia, and Olney will host Mattoon.
