Fire destroyed a rural Bluford doublewide mobile home early Monday morning.
Bluford Fire Chief Marty Archer says the mobile home at 15,332 North Seagull Lane west of Bluford was fully engulfed in flames when a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy first arrived followed by the first firemen.
The fire was at the James Kennard home. His daughter was home at the time, but got out safely.
Archer reports the cause of the fire will go down as undetermined.
Firemen received the call just after midnight and were on the scene until 3:15 Monday morning.
Bluford received mutual aid assistance from Jefferson Fire, Mt. Vernon, Kell, Woodlawn, and Wayne City at the fire scene while Ewing Northern and Orchardville covered the Bluford station in the event of another fire.
