Her loyal four-legged best friend, Marley, also survives her.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Scharnett, and a brother, Thomas Scharnett
Lesa was a beautiful, free spirit who brought laughter and light wherever she went.

She loved the beach and the sunshine, and had a natural gift for making others feel welcome and loved. A passionate fitness instructor and a longtime “mom” to many through her involvement with sororities and fraternities, Lesa was known for her positivity, her vibrant spirit, and her incredible sense of humor. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters, who were the light of her life. Her warmth, beauty, and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. “She lived by the sun, loved by the moon, and laughed with the stars.”

Cremation rites will be afforded per family wishes. A memorial service, in honor of Lesa, will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Megan Parr and will be accepted at Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97 / 310 N.
