A 46-year-old rural Odin man has been arrested after allegedly shooting at an occupied building late Thursday night. Weston Beyers of Fairydale Road was charged in Marion County Court Friday with aggravated discharge of a firearm into a building and reckless discharge of a firearm.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says the incident occurred at a former antique store on Seven Hills Road in rural Patoka where a family member had been staying. Following an earlier argument, Beyers reportedly returned, got out of his vehicle, and shot multiple times into the building.
Cripps reports at least one person was inside at the time, but there were no injuries.
Beyers then left the scene, but was found a short time later at his home where he was taken into custody without incident. He will appear in Marion County Court for the first time Friday afternoon.
