The post season began for 1a/2a baseball teams.  The South Central Cougars opened their regional at Edwards County and came away with a 3-2, 8-inning win over Cisne.  SC won in the most South Central of ways, with a walk-off squeeze bunt by Evan Hoover to score Brody Markley.  They advance to get the host Lions in the finals after they beat Red Hill 1-0 on a Cash Conner home run.

Christ Our Rock won their regional opener beating Okawville 4-2.  Lendon Isaiah and Omari King each tripled in the game.  Isaiah drove in a run along with Damari Dabney and Parker Boehne.  Boehne was the starter going 4 innings followed up by Jayden Bazile who got the win in his 3 innings of relief.  The Stallions will play in the finals against today’s winner between Marissa and Woodlawn.

Also in 1a play, Altamont short gamed Dieterich 14-1 at North Clay.  The host Cardinals will play Brownstown/St Elmo today in their opener.

In 2a openers yesterday, Roxana beat Mater Dei 4-1 at Carlyle, Columbia at home beat Staunton 10-0 and Breese Central nipped Marquette 5-3, Harrisburg lost at home to visiting Johnston City, St Anthony beat the hosts at Marshall 6-1, Mt Carmel at home beat Hamilton County 4-0, Nashville at home in five innings beat Chester 11-0.  At TTown, the Shoes beat Cumberland 16-2 and Flora 7-0 over Robinson.

In 2a regionals today, Wesclin and Althoff play at Carlyle, Newton and Lawrenceville from Marshall, Carmi and Fairfield at Mt Carmel and Carterville and Red Bud play at Nashville.
