The Salem Township Hospital Employee of the Year is Director of Surgical Services Kristina Feig.
Her name was announced by the sponsoring Salem Township Hospital Foundation during a Hospital Week event Wednesday morning.
Foundation President Myron Lloyd read from comments submitted by co-workers who noted Feig was a constant example through her work ethic and determination. She was also called a caring person who has a willingness to advocate for her staff and her patients with the strength to persevere.
Feig has been an employee of Salem Township Hospital for nine years and in addition to being Director of Surgical Services she is also first assist in surgeries.
“I love the environment from administration down. It’s like a family. My department especially is very close. I feel like everyone has everybody’s backs and strive to do the best for our patients everyday.”
Feig says another employee convinced her to apply nine years ago after she worked for 15 years at another facility. She began as supervisor and was later promoted to director.
Feig says she was a little shocked when her name was called because of all the good candidates.
The Employee of the Year is a joint recognition project of Dr. and Mrs. Lakshmanan and the Salem Township Hospital Foundation. As winner, Feig will receive a $1,000 cash award, a plaque denoting the honor and getting her name on a plaque with all past winners.
