The Salem Lady Wildcats soccer season came to an end with a loss to the host Lady Knights at the Triad Regional 9-0. Salem’s season ends with a record of 2-16-and-2. Triad advances to take on Highland after they eliminated Centralia 3-0.
At Carbondale, Freeburg shutout Harrisburg 7-0 and Carbondale beat Marion 4-2. Charleston lost at home to Mascoutah 9-0.
Tonight in 2a soccer regional semifinals at Charleston’s Linder Sports Complex, Civic Memorial will take on Mattoon. At Mahomet-Seymour Junior High it will be Mt Zion and Lincoln. At Waterloo, the hosts take on Anna at 5pm followed by Mount Vernon and Carterville at 7.
In 1a soccer regional title matches yesterday, Mater Dei won the Metro East Lutheran title over Roxana 2-0. Father McGivney at home beat visiting Wesclin 7-0, Greenville beat Staunton 2-1 at home winning 4-3 in PKs. At Hillsboro, Marquette shutout Litchfield 7-0.
Tonight is the Columbia regional championship featuring the host Lady Eagles and Murphysboro.
