A 26-year-old Flora man has been arrested on a Class X charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation says Braxton Allen was arrested following an investigation at the request of Flora Police into alleged sexual assault activity between May 1st and May 31st in Clay County.
After a thorough investigation, agents presented the findings to the Clay County State’s Attorney who formally charged Allen on Monday with two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child. He was taken into custody on the arrest warrant by the Flora Police Department.
Allen was transported to the Clay County Jail where he was being held without bond.
ISP was assisted by the Flora Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
