Centralia BPW Awards $4,000 in Scholarships

 

Centralia Business & Professional Women met on May 8th at the Colonial Golf Course Clubhouse to award scholarships to four very deserving individuals.  Each recipient will receive $1,000 to further their education.

Three scholarships in the category of high school graduates were awarded.  Recipients are Meredith May, daughter of Don and Marilyn May.  Meredith will be attending Illinois State University with studies in the Marketing program.  Manuela Maco, daughter of Manny and Lola Maco will be attending Kaskaskia College with studies in chemistry with Pre-pharmacy and will further her education at SIU Edwardsville for Doctorate of Pharmacy.  Sophia Barrow, daughter of Randy and Lisa Barrow will be attending Illinois College studying Actuarial Science with a minor in art.  All three recipients will be 2024 graduates of Centralia High School.

The recipient of the undergraduate category is Jordynn Duensing and she is the daughter of Don and Elaine Duensing.  Jordynn is a Kaskaskia College student and will be transferring to McKendree University with studies in accounting.

Centralia BPW is proud to announce the establishment of the Centralia BPW Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) with all funds collected used for awarding scholarships and offering educational functions.  Donations can be made by making payable to Centralia BPW Education Foundation and mailed to P.O. Box 502, Centralia, IL 62801.
