The Class L and S state track meets were held over the weekend.  In Class L at Carterville, Franklin Park was well represented and came home with a state champ and 2 school records.  Silas Lux won the shot put with a heave of 50-10.

Braelan Knaak finished 2nd in the discus throwing it 104-4.  Nate Lowry was 2nd in the pole vault going 9 foot.  Kyler King finished 3rd in the discus with a throw of 142-3.

The 7th grade 4×200 team of Teagan Lobek, Charlotte Johnson, Adysen Pracht and Kinli Biegeleisen finished 7th in a school record time of 1:59.4.  The 4×400 team of Lobek, Kendall Zimmermann, Johnson and Pracht were 7th also in a school record time of 4:30.93.

Centralia Junior High 8th grader Kenny Bratton brought home 4 medals.  He won the High Jump and 400m, finished 3rd in the 200 and 7th in the 100.

In Class S at DuQuoin, for Selmaville it was Walker Crank medaling in the shot and Noah Gaston in the mile.  Carly Veach medaled in the 400, 8th grade 100 and was the state champ in the hurdles setting a new state record.  Alana Howe was 2nd in the 7th grade 100.  The 4×100 team of Howe, Alana Finney, Kenzie Lewis and Emily Guzman medaled and broke the school record.  The 4×200 team of Howe, Lewis, Guzman and Kenna Benjamin also medaled and broke the school record.

Raccoon’s Emily Parrett is the girls shot champion.

The Patoka 7th grade 4×200 relay team of Lemmy Kuhn, Ashtyn Hagan, Kru Cain and Quentin Faulkner were 5th in school record time of 1:53.45.

Ashtyn Smith of Cisne finished an undefeated long jump season winning the Class S title with a jump of 15-10.

New Horizon’s Liv Torrence was 4th in the discus and 7th in the shot.

Grand Prairie’s Luke Monaghan was 2nd in the discus, 6th in the long jump and 8th in the hurdles.
