Norma Rueter, age 85, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Illinois, on April 29, 2025.
Norma was born in Ferrin on January 30, 1940, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lillie (Brammeier) Rueter. She was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin, where she was active as a member of the choir and Ladies’ Aid. She also served as church secretary for a time. Norma was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Centralia, where she served as past president. She worked at Branson Jones & Branson Law Firm as a legal secretary for many years. Norma enjoyed traveling, music, and making many special memories with her nieces and nephews. She was loved greatly by her family, and she will be dearly missed.
Norma is survived by her nieces and nephews, Vicki (Wally) Glauber, Sherri (Darrin) Williams, Brian (Mary) Rueter, and Darin (Jana) Rueter; her sisters-in-law, Joan Rueter and Diane Rueter; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lillie Rueter; her brothers, Wilbert “Wib” Rueter and Larvin Rueter; and a nephew, Curtis Rueter.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin, Illinois. Interment to follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Ferrin. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
