One person was injured in a two vehicle crash on I-57 near the Post Oak Rest Area south of Salem last night.

Preliminary information released by State Police indicate a van rear ended a car while both were southbound.  The impact caused the car to run off the left side of the road and strike a tree.

The driver of the car had to be extricated by the Salem Fire Protection District and was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.

State Police have not released the names of the two drivers at the present time.
