The Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force has arrested two Salem men for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

29-year-old Jason Hayes was taken into custody Wednesday by Salem Police on two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.   He was picked up in the area of West Main and Hotze Road.

Hayes is expected to make his first appearance in Marion County Court on Thursday.

37-year-old Anthony Harden was arrested Friday by Salem Police on one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance without incident in the area of West Main and South Missouri Avenue.

The charge filed against Harden in Marion County Court claimed he unlawfully delivered to a confidential source of the drug task force more than one but less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine on August 16th of last year.

The drug task force reports the investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released at the present time by Salem Police or the drug task force.

The drug task force is comprised of the Salem Police Department, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Robinson Police Department, the Mt. Carmel Police Department, and Illinois State Police.  The cooperative effort between the departments is an effort to curb drug usage and violence in the area.
