Salem 13u 1-3 In Tournament Play

The Salem 13u were in tournament action this weekend.  After falling twice on Saturday in pool play 6-3 to St Anthony and 4-1 to Jasper County, the Cats bounced back and won their opener on Sunday beating the Central Illinois Gravity 9-3.  Kai Graham and Tripp Garden both doubled with Garden driving in 2 runs.  Trygg Aaron and Zane Applegate added 2 RBI with Graham and Rhett Starnes also adding RBI.  Applegate was the winning pitcher allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs with Bentley Bryan shutting it down.  Salem was then eliminated by St Anthony losing 15-8 with the Bulldogs pulling away with 7 runs in the fourth.  Applegate had 2 doubles in his 3-3 game with Graham driving in 2 runs.
