A 21-year-old Alma woman was airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital trauma center following an ATV crash on the south side of Kinmundy early Monday evening.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says Jani Tidwell was traveling southbound on South Washington Street with several other ATV riders when she lost control for an unknown reason, struck a mailbox, and was thrown from her vehicle. She sustained multiple injuries and broken bones.
Tidwell was transported by Kinmundy-Alma and United Medical Response to the parking lot of the Kinmundy-Alma Fire Station where an Air Evac helicopter landed to transfer Tidwell to a St. Louis Hospital.
Cripps says Tidwell was traveling alone on her ATV and none of the other ATV’s were involved in the crash. It occurred around six Monday evening.
