Sarah Louise Phillips, 79, of Belle Rive, Illinois, passed away at 10:20 pm April 6, 2025 at Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born May 11, 1945 in Vandalia, Illinois to the late Elwood “Ed” and Pauline (Strange) Brown. Sarah married Larry Phillips on June 27, 1987. They were blessed with nearly 38 years of marriage.
In addition to her beloved husband, Sarah is survived by her daughters, Paula Cox of Vandalia, Julia Graumenz of Avon Park, Florida, and Lori Clark of Vandalia; stepdaughter, Michelle Rightnowar; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Randy Phillips and wife, Darla; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Pilcher, Sue Harmon, Lou Brown, Elwood Brown, and Maryann Pflueger, father and mother-in-law, Nolan and Imogene Phillips; and brother-in-Law, Gary Phillips.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 1:00 pm at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Opdyke, Illinois with Mr. Tyler Heinzman officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Sarah’s honor to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
