Illinois State Police say five liquor license holders in Marion County sold to a minor during a recent Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement surveillance at various establishments.

The five establishments are Bub’s Pub Incorporated, Fat’s Rendezvous, and Crossroads Package Liquor Bar in Sandoval, as well as the Industrial Tavern and Casey’s General Store in Wamac.  The employees of the businesses were cited for unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor and given a notice to appear in court.

The ACE Surveillance also covered establishments in Cumberland and Effingham County.  In all 49 businesses were surveyed, with 13 allegedly selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor.   State Police are commending establishments and their employees which do not sell alcohol to minors.

The ACE program is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
