The Salem Wildcats JV and Varsity are back in action this afternoon with a trip to Belleville East. The varsity Cats are 6-6 after having their game yesterday with Freeburg rained out. It will be made up on Friday. The JV Cats enter at 5-6 after splitting with West and Triad Saturday.
The South Central Cougars will be tested with a trip to powerhouse Effingham St Anthony.
Despite seeing their 6 run lead whittled down by the end, Christ Our Rock improved to 4-4 on the season with an 8-6 win over Alton Marquette. Brayden Albert led the Stallions with 2 hits and 3 RBI, Damari Dabney drove in 2 with RBI also from Jayden Bazile, Parker Boehne and Evan Beal.
Yesterday in baseball action, DuQuoin nipped Pinckneyville 11-10, Highland 8-6 over Mater Dei, Nashville beat West Frankfort 14-3, Roxana over Wood River 11-1, Sparta beat Okawville 10-4, St Anthony shutout Mattoon 12-0.
