The Indoor Top Times State Track Meet was held in Bloomington.
With the best track athlete ever at SCHS, Mike Minton on hand to watch perhaps the young man that may take his place, Salem’s Caleb Smith won the state champion in the shot put throwing it 59’5.50 feet. This goes along with his state titles in the shot and discus already as well as his National championship this past summer in both events.
Salem’s Finley Puricelli was 17th in the 400m in a time of 1:03.51.
Centralia’s Arion Hill won the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.04 which is the top time of anyone in the state this year.
And the meet was dominated by Marion 2-milie All American Dylan Nalley. He broke the record at the indoor meet running the 3200m in 8:54.01. At one point, Dylan lapped the entire field. He currently is the #3 runner in the 3200m in the country.
