Wednesday was the official signing day for Salem Community High School Seniors TJ Gillett and Hayden Hopkins. Both young men have signed to lift for Coach Brad Bechel and The McKendree University Powerlifting Team next year while attending McKendree University in Lebanon, IL..
Both TJ Gillett and Hayden Hopkins are athletes of The Salem Strength Team and are coached by Monty Murphy of Salem. Both young men have qualified to compete at the USA Powerlifting High School Nationals in Baton Rouge, LA and will be competing on April 5th and 6th. They will be joined by another SST lifter, Madison Camp, who will be competing as well.
TJ Gillett is the son of Travis and Christy Gillett of Salem.
Hayden Hopkins is the son of Derek and Kassie Hopkins of Salem.
