Rickie Lee Kirkpatrick, 70, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 5:15 pm March 15, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born May 29, 1954 in Mount Vernon to the late Kenneth J. and Doris I. (Mayer) Kirkpatrick. Rickie married Peggy (Braden) Kirkpatrick on February 14, 1979 in Mount Vernon. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage.
In addition to his beloved wife, Rickie is survived by his children, Kenneth L. Kirkpatrick and wife, Angela, Stephanie D. Kirkpatrick, and Rikki L. Kirkpatrick and significant other, Donny Peyton, all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Gavin Kirkpatrick, Elaina Kirkpatrick, Lilly Kirkpatrick, Liem Moffitt, and Knox Peyton; sister, Karen Baker-Lash; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Meadows and Rick Shopinski.
In addition to his parents, Rickie was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Kirkpatrick; sister, Cheryl Robbins; sisters-in-law, Betty Shopinski and Carol Meadows; and brother-in-law, David Braden.
Rickie proudly served his country in the United States Marines from 1971-73. He worked for Lipps Construction for over 20 years. Rickie was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He had a huge heart for animals, but truly loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Per his wishes, Rickie will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
