2025 03/17 – Henry Borgmann

Mr. Henry Borgmann of Irvington, IL departed this life in the SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, IL on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 7:30 P.M. He had attained the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 30 days.

Henry was born in Okawville, IL on October 12, 1938, the son of Charles Sr. and Alma (nee Kaufman) Borgmann.

Mr. Borgmann was raised as a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Okawville. While in school, Henry worked for the Niermann family on their dairy farm near Hoyleton, IL. He then went to work at Rockwell International in Centralia for 27 years until his retirement. He then went back to work for the Niermann family on the farm until his retirement. Henry was a member of the United Auto Workers and a former member of the Moose Lodge in St. Libory, IL. He loved the outdoors and

enjoyed camping and fishing and was a big fan of John Deere Tractors. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing is his two children, Doug Borgmann and wife Rhonda of Ashley, IL and Kristie Van Praag and husband Josh of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Jordan Borgmann of Woodlawn, IL, Bridget Borgmann of Nashville, TN, and Mia Van Praag of Chicago; two great grandchildren, Saylor Borgmann and Paisley Warner; six siblings, June Hull and husband Donnie of Centralia, Hadley Borgmann of Okawville, Judy Stonecipher of Benton, IL, Earl Borgmann of TN., Carolyn Pille of Okawville, and Marilyn Debose of Eldorado, IL; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Charles Borgmann Jr., Audrey Lee, Jackie Bergkoetter, Henrietta Borgmann, Byron Borgmann, Bruce Borgmann, Dwight Borgmann, and Eunice Spindler.

Funeral services will be held from the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Okawville.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Monday, March 17 from 9 A.M. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Okawville Senior Center for their Meals on Wheels program and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
