The Salem Lady Cats opened up their softball season with a win at Triad 6-5. Lilly Blagoue struck out 12 in the circle and also homered on the day along with Breanna Thurman. Izzy Decker and Mya Russell each had their first varsity hits. Russell, Nat Lee and Thurman had 2 hits each. Olivia Paulson had 3 hits and drove in 2. Salem is back on the road Thursday at Benton.
