Arthur Glenn Michael, 95, of Kell, passed away at Centralia Manor on February 25th, 2025, with family by his side. He was born September 29th, 1929, near Iuka, to Arthur Grant and Donna (Lowry) Michael. He would marry Lena Marie Halfacre on August 23rd, 1950, and they would be married for 73 years, before her passing in 2024.

Glenn is survived by his 7 grandchildren: Melissa (Brent) Maynor, Keri (Spencer) Stewart, Laura (Michael) Lopez, Suzanne Michael, Thomas (Emma) Michael, Danae (Joseph) Ringler, and Andy (Tia) Laughhunn; adopted grandson: Rick Boxx; 13 great grandchildren; and by one daughter-in-law: Lisa Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Grant and Donna Michael; his son: Robert Michael; his daughter: Betty Sue Michael; great-grandson: Lorenzo Lopez, brother Kenneth Michael; one sister: Dorothy Donoho; a brother-in-law: Fred Donoho; and a sister-in-law: Margie Michael.

Glenn was an active member of the Kell Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and song leader. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. For 42 years he worked for the Illinois Central Railroad as a maintenance supervisor. In his retirement years, he spent his time fixing anything with a motor and helping the ‘old widow women’ in his town. He served as Secretary Treasurer of the Zion Grove Cemetery for many years. Lena and he had lived in the same house near Kell for over 70 years. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Cremation rites will be afforded, per Glenn’s wishes. A private family burial will occur at a future date at Zion Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Grove Cemetery Association or Wounded Warrior Project and will be accepted at L.R. Osborn and Son Funeral Home, P.O. Box 39, Kell, Illinois, 62853, who is honored to be of service to Glenn’s family at this time.
