Robert “Ram Jet” Lane, age 75 of Kinmundy, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on March 3, 1949 in Vandalia, the son of Charles and Mildred (Krutsinger) Lane. He married Kim Lane in 2002 in Glenridge and she survives in Kinmundy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mildred Lane of Kinmundy; two daughters, Jennifer Yates and husband James, Leah Diss and husband Justin; two sons, Steven Callender and Keith Callender and friend Debbie; son-in-law, Kevin Reid; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Jimmy Lane and wife Vicki, Jerry Lane and wife Cheryl, and Kenny Lane and wife Rose Marie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; a daughter, Bobbie Gayle Reid; and a son, Michael Callender.
Robert was a machinist and welder. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and tinkering in his garage. He had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him. His love for his family, friends and his dogs will live on through his legacy.
