Carol A. Wood, 92, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Centralia Manor. She was born on September 26, 1932, in Pee Wee Valley, Kentucky to H. McKay and Martha (Jenkins) King. She married Richard J. Wood on September 19, 1959, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1985.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Clint) Ahlf, and Katie (Kurt) Horath; grandchildren, Chris (Brittany) Ahlf, Rachel Tune, A.J. Ward, and Catherine Ward; great-grandchildren, Carter Ahlf, and Jack, Halle, and Wyatt Tune.
Along with her husband of 25 years, Richard Wood, Carol was preceded in death by her parents, H. McKay and Martha (Jenkins) King; sisters, Kay Rothering, and Marjo Allen; grandson-in-law, Ryan Tune.
Carol spent most of her life in the Centralia area, working as a waitress at several area restaurants. She always had a big, compassionate heart and a snappy comeback and truly cared about her customers. She adored her grandchildren and “great-grands”. Carol was their devoted “BaBa” and “Gramsie”. Her love, laughter, and sense of humor will be missed.
A private graveside service will be held at Sandoval City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Carol’s honor to the Family and will be accepted for her family at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
