The Centralia Orphans improved to 29-2 and won their Marion regional semifinal knocking off Carbondale 50-35.  Michael Organ led the Orphans with 9 points off the bench as they had 7 scorers and all ranged between 6 and 9 points.  The Orphans will play in Friday’s finals against Marion after their win over Herrin 41-35.

Mount Vernon advanced to the finals of the Charleston regional with their win over the hosts 64-45.  They will play Olney who got by Mattoon 59-56.  At Freeburg, Mascoutah beat the Midgets 66-44 and Highland over Waterloo 53-36.  At Jerseyville, East St Louis beat Jerseyville 66-53 and Triad over Civic Memorial 43-26.

In 2a, Breese Central was down 26-21 heading into the 4th quarter of their game with Nashville in Breese, but came back to win 42-31 and will get Pinckneyville in the finals after their win over Carlyle 48-40.  At Columbia, the host Eagles got 29 from San Donald in their 58-42 win over Althoff.  Dierre Hill had 18 for the Crusaders.  At Massac County, the hosts beat Harrisburg 77-59 and Vienna over Carmi 73-47.  At Newton, TTown beat Marshall 59-37.  The host Eagles got 41 from Parker Wolf in their 91-59 win over Hutsonville.  At Roxana, Marquette beat Staunton 55-32, and Roxana over Piasa 50-37.  At Vandalia, Robinson upset Lawrenceville 52-37 and Flora over Fairfield 59-43.

In 1a, 2-seed Dieterich was upset by #9 Edwards County at Edwards County 67-62 and Christ Our Rock also advanced to the finals beating Red Hill 75-44.  At Altamont, the host Indians beat North Clay 54-46 and Webber got by St Elmo/Brownstown 57-49.  At Okaw Valley, St Anthony got by Nokomis 45-33 and will play Arcola in the finals after their 51-38 win over the hosts.  At Trico, Gibault beat Trico 40-23 and New Athens beat Steeleville 47-39.  At Woodlawn, Waltonville beat Sesser 58-52 and Okawville knocked off Woodlawn 56-52.

In 4a regional finals at Edwardsville, Quincy nipped Alton 48-47 and O’Fallon beat the host Tigers 63-54.  At Granite City, Collinsville beat the hosts 61-53 and Belleville West in a nail-biter over Belleville East 49-48.
