Centralia Orphans win 25th as they drop Salem Wildcats 67-26

Centralia High School Senior Cruz Harlan had 18 points on his 18th birthday to lead the Orphans to a 67 to 26 win over the Salem Wildcats.

The win was the 25th of the season for the Orphans, while Salem dropped to 9-20.

The Orphans jumped out to an early lead and led 15 to 9 at the end of the first quarter and 35-11 at halftime.

Dustyn Collins was also in double figures for the Orphans, with 16 on a night that saw the Orphans make 11 three-pointers.

Salem was led by Gavin Zimmerman with 12 points.

Orphan Annies senior JaLea Shered was honored at half-time for reaching 1,000 points in her career during the Monday night game with the Lady Rams.

The Orphan Annies also won their game in overtime Saturday afternoon as they downed conference foe Belleville Althoff 53 to 48.   The score was 46-46 at the end of regulation with the Annies never trailing in the overtime period.  Shered led the Annies with 18 points with Jasaiyah Wallace just behind with 17.   The win improves the Annies to 17-9.  They picked up three wins during the past week.
