LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska came back from an 18-point second-half deficit to knock off No. 6 Wisconsin 80-72 in overtime. It was the second top-10 opponent the Cornhuskers beat this season. Rienk Mast scored early in overtime to give the Huskers the lead for good. When time expired the students spilled onto the court for the second time this season. C.J. Wilcher scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, Mast finished with 20, and the Huskers improved to 6-0 at home in Big Ten play. AJ Storr matched his season high with 28 points to lead the Badgers. Wisconsin had been 120-0 when leading by 15 or more points at halftime since 2000.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA generated nearly $1.3 billion in revenue for the 2022-23 fiscal year, and more than half of that was distributed back to Division I members. That’s according to financial statements released by the association. NCAA revenues rose from about $1.14 billion in the previous fiscal year to $1.28 billion. As usual, the bulk of the NCAA’s revenue — $945 million — came from media rights and marketing deals tied to championship events. Roughly 69% of the money came from the men’s basketball tournament. The NCAA’s expenses reached $1.17 billion, which includes $669 million distributed to the more than 363 Division I member schools.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jacy Sheldon scored 17 points, Cotie McMahon had 15 and Eboni Walker 11 as No. 8 Ohio State won its eighth straight game, 87-49 over Wisconsin on Thursday night. The Buckeyes (18-3, 9-1 Big Ten) shot 50% (33 for 66) from the field, their best performance in nine games, and went 13 for 16 from the line. Serah Williams led Wisconsin (10-10, 3-7) with 16 points and 11 rebounds in her seventh straight game with a double-double.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Former Southern California defensive coordinator Alex Grinch has resurfaced at Wisconsin as the Badgers’ new safeties coach. Wisconsin was seeking a safeties coach after Colin Hitschler left to join new Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff. Grinch is a two-time semifinalist for the Frank Broyles Award given annually to college football’s top assistant coach. He has been a defensive coordinator at Washington State (2015-17), Oklahoma (2019-21) and Southern California (2022-23). He also was Ohio State’s co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach in 2018. He got fired at USC with two games left in the 2023 regular season.

UNDATED (AP) — Caitlin Clark has been a must-see attraction on the road this year with some tickets going for thousands of dollars on the secondary market. The prices are only expected to go higher as she approaches the NCAA all-time scoring record over the next few weeks. Schools that have hosted Iowa have sold out routinely and seen an increase over 150% on average.

UNDATED (AP) — Years of fighting losing battles have left the NCAA almost helpless to defend itself. The legal pile-on against the largest governing body for college sports in the United States continued when attorneys general from Tennessee and Virginia filed an antitrust lawsuit that seeks to throw out the few rules the NCAA has to regulate how athletes can be compensated for name, image and likeness. That pushes the number of antitrust lawsuits the NCAA is actively defending to at least five. Denial and previous court losses have flung the doors open to legal scrutiny the NCAA and so-called collegiate sports model cannot withstand.

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — UCLA defensive end Laiatu Latu is a hot NFL draft prospect two years after resuming his football career. Latu was medically retired for two seasons at Washington after a neck injury. He was cleared to play for UCLA the past two seasons and emerged as one of college football’s top pass rushers. Latu is at the Senior Bowl this week trying to solidify his status as a likely first-round NFL draft pick. He had 35 tackles for loss and 23-1/2 sacks in two seasons at UCLA, winning the Lombardi Award and Ted Hendricks Award.
