Carol Jean Mosley peacefully passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 9, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Carol spent her life devoted to her family and community.
Carol was the beloved wife of Gary Mosley, with whom she shared a beautiful life in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was a cherished mother to her children: Michael Mosley of Edgewood, Illinois; Tara Sanders of Woodlawn, Illinois; Matthew Haskins and his wife Marie of Golden, Missouri; and David Watkins of Denver, Colorado. Carol’s legacy also lives on in the hearts of her 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. She is also survived by her two sisters: Susan Nadenoff and husband Jim of Wheaton, Illinois and Robin Rothemeyer and husband Michael of DeKalb, Illinois; sister-in-law: Rebecca Cochran and husband Jay of Kansas; a brother-in-law: Harold Paul Mosley and wife Lisa of St. Peters, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy Schulte, and her sister, Janice Bedell.
Carol’s family meant everything to her, and she was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support for her loved ones. Throughout her life, Carol was a beacon of light to all who knew her, spreading joy and compassion wherever she went. Her gentle spirit and heartfelt laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Carol was a member of the Boyd Christian Church. Carol served as the secretary and member of the Roadhouse HOG Chapter in Mt. Vernon, where she and Gary made wonderful memories while taking motorcycle trips with fellow members.
Per Carol’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
