The Salem Bryan Bennett Library is holding two events on Saturday.
Salem Emergency Management Agency Director Andrew Strong and Salem Police Chief Kyle Ambuehl will share information on what to expect during the total solar eclipse in April that is likely to bring a large number of people to the area stretching resources and services.
A door prize will be held for a basic 72-hour kit.
The library will also hold the Midwinter’s Seed Swap from ten to one on Saturday. All are welcome to attend and collect seeds for planting in the 2024 season. Bring your saved seeds from last year’s garden as well as purchased seeds to swap with fellow gardeners.
There is no registration, fee, or library card is required. Extra containers for seed storage will be available. Various seed catalogs will be available to peruse for reference.
A door prize drawing for garden hand tools will be held at one. Seeds may be dropped off early and left in a container at the main desk.
Everyone is welcome to select seeds, even if no seeds are brought.
