Fern Pauline (Risinger) Fyke, 92, revered as a pillar of strength, unwavering dedication to Jesus Christ, and total commitment to her family and friends, passed away on January 7, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Born on October 15, 1932, in Millegeville, Illinois to Edgar Raymond Risinger and Hilda Christine Deadmond. She married Allen L Fyke on 9 June 1951 at her parents’ home in Odin, Illinois.
Pauline was known for her warmth, generosity, and the undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world. Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children, Jean Fyke Anfield her husband Dennis and their three kids Dennis Troy, Eric and Mark; Her Daughter Jana Fyke Harting and her husband David and their kids Bradley and Andrea, her son Richard Fyke and his wife Kay and their Daughter Kim; Brother Vernon (Ban) Risinger and his wife Patty, Her Sister Kathryn (Kitty) Fisher and her husband Wilford (Pill), Her sister-in-law Marilyn Fyke Risinger, Brother-in-Law Jack Fyke, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles grand and great-grandchildren. Pauline is joined in rest by her mother, Hilda her father, Edgar, and her husband Allen Fyke, brothers Edwin (Eddy) Risinger and David Risinger; Sisters Hilda Eileen Coffey, Verna Berry along with many other loved ones throughout her life.
Among Pauline’s most significant accomplishments was raising her three children, whom she held as her pride and joy. Hosting many Risinger family reunions Pauline continued to support her family and extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her work as head of housekeeping at the Odin Care Center and Sunday School Superintendent and youth group leader kept Pauline busy. Her legacy is one of unyielding Godliness, kindness and generosity. Pauline’s loss is deeply felt by her immense family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home 234 South Elm Centralia, IL with Pastor Kevin Cox officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia. Memorials may be made to the Marion First Freewill Church 909 South Eisenhower, Marion, IL 62959.
