The Salem Freshmen traveled to Fairfield and won a pair of games on Saturday. They opened with a 28-27 win over Fairfield. Trailing by 2 with 12 seconds left, Jaret Gibson made a shot and was fouled. He made the free throw to give Salem the lead, and the defense held on for the win. Avery Gullion led Salem with 12 points. Caeden Miraglia added 6.
Salem then beat Harrisburg in the 2nd game 53-44. Avery Gullion scored 11 of his game-high 15 in the first half. Landen Maxey added 13, Payton Gullion hit three 3’s and finished with 11 as did Marquis Ettress.
The Salem Freshmen and sophomores return to action Tuesday night at home against Mount Vernon.
