The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is reporting a $500,000 drug bust on I-64.

The bust came after a deputy and his K-9 partner made a traffic stop on eastbound I-64 near Okawville around the 40-mile marker.    When K-9 Luna alerted on the vehicle, a search was completed and 160 pounds of cannabis, 12 pounds of mushrooms, and 59 pounds of THC cartridges/edibles were recovered.

The driver, whose name has not been released by the sheriff’s department, was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail. They are being held pending a decision on formal charges for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Trafficking Marijuana, and Possession of Marijuana greater than 500 grams.
