Two Centralia men were charged in Marion County Court Monday with new felony offenses following weekend arrests.
Judge Doug Jarmin then ordered 18-year-old Kaemarious Parks of Saddler Place and 30-year-old Jacob Ferranti of West Noleman Street held without bond pending their next court appearance.
Parks was charged with felony criminal damage to property, violation of a condition of pre-trial release, and violation of an order of protection. He is accused of damaging a pretrial monitoring bracelet, violating another of his pre-trial release conditions by going back to an apartment on Fairway Drive where the alleged victim in his earlier criminal charges resides. Parks is also accused of violating her order of protection.
Parks had been released on pre-trial conditions after being charged last week with domestic battery, endangering the life of a child, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and resisting arrest. He accused of throwing bleach on the alleged victim while she was holding their small child who also had some splashed on him.
Parks had the public defender appointed to represent him on the new charges. A first appearance with counsel is set for January 30th.
Feranti was charged with aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and domestic battery. He’s accused of strangling the alleged victim and also grabbing her hair preventing her from moving as well as striking her in the head with his hand. A preliminary hearing is set for January 23rd.
In both cases, Judge Jarmin found the release of the two posed a real and present threat to the safety of the alleged victims and the community which no pre-trial conditions can mitigate.
