Jack D Hamilton, 91 years of age, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2024.
He was born in Oklahoma and moved to Salem, IL at an early age and was a 1951 graduate of Salem Community High School. Jack served in the military and was known for his precision and attention to detail. He worked hard to put himself through school, often balancing his job and classes. He later moved with his wife, Barbara, to Florence, Arizona in 1962 and quickly became involved in the community. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Florence and he taught business classes at Florence High School. Jack carried his precision for excellence into his teaching career. He was passionate about the vocational program he developed where students received experience in various government and private businesses in the local area. His hobbies included gardening, locksmithing, and traveling extensively in various areas around the world.
Surviving family includes his beloved wife of 66 & 1/2 years, Barbara S Hamilton, daughter Vicky Chavez (Caleb) of New Mexico, grandson Aaron (Bethany) of Washington, granddaughter Marissa of California, and great-grandson Edmond of Washington. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Anna Hamilton of Jay, OK.
Funeral Services will be held in Jay, Oklahoma on Jan 3, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Jay. A memorial service will be held in Florence, Arizona on Jan 10, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church, Florence.
