By WJBD Staff Jan 2, 2024 | 8:37 AM

The Salem City Council Tuesday night will discuss how the 4th of July celebration will look in Salem this summer.

The city council is being asked to review the musical entertainment held the past two years at the Band Stage as part of the celebration. With July 4th being on a Thursday this year, the council is being asked to decide if that is the day they want to celebrate or on a weekend day instead. They are also being asked if they want to keep the musical entertainment and if so, if they want to continue utilizing the same provider.

The council will also be asked to enter into a professional services agreement with Gonzalez Companies, LLC for the city’s summer oil and chip street improvement program.

The meeting begins at six Tuesday night at Salem City Hall.
