James (Jim) Robert Green, 85, returned to his heavenly home on December 24th, 2024, after a brief illness. His loving family was by his side.
Jim was born on February 3rd, 1939, in Centralia to James Godwin and Eva Margaret (Wilson) Green. He married Carol Ann (Phillips) on January 17, 1959.
Jim operated and maintained several public water and sewer systems in Marion, Clinton, and Washington Counties. Jim and Carol Ann started Consolidated Water Services in 1974 to help with the expanding workload. Jim also helped water companies with funding applications and private easements in the beginning phases. Jim retired in 2008 to care for his wife. Jim’s son, Jason, and his wife Carrie took over management of the family business. Tim, grandsons, cousins, and friends have all worked for CWS over the years contributing to its legacy and mission. CWS is still going strong today operating in Fayette, Clay, and Wayne counties as well.
Jim and Carol Ann loved traveling with John and Carol Sue to fishing destinations. Jim enjoyed hunting with his grandchildren and trap shooting. Jim was notorious for sharing epic historical sagas and science documentaries with his family.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Betty Davis of Centralia; Dorothy Ray Cutler of Brownsville Tx; John and Carol Sue Green of Carlyle, sister-in-law Barbara Nelms; sons Tim (Sandy) and Jason (Carrie) Green of Centralia, daughter Julie (Steve) Dixon of Matlacha, Fl; grandchildren Tabitha (George) Jentsch of Irvington, James Kern of Baldwinsville NY, Daniel Dixon of Bokeelia Florida, Steven Dixon of Helena Mt, Carson, Cooper and Cobie Green of Centralia, Rahkeim Anderson of Centralia, Tyron Anderson of Marion; a great-granddaughter Madisyn Jentsch of Irvington; so many special nieces and nephews and friends that are family.
Jim was predeceased by his wife and his parents.
A celebration of life will be held in May for Jim’s family and friends, where he laid to rest next to his wife, Carol Ann.
Friends and relatives are welcome from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia, to offer words of comfort and support, and to share memories of Jim. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim’s honor to Centralia High School, please include Weight Room in the memo.
