Marlena Kaye “Mitzi” Isaak, 54, of Patoka passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, Monday, December 30, 2024 at her home. She was born on January 19, 1970, the daughter of Frederick “Fritz” and Maria (Newcomb) Sprehe in Nashville. She married Tracy Murray in 1989 they had their 2 beautiful children Tyson & Whitney while stationed in Hawaii, they later divorced. Mitzi married Marty Isaak on January 2, 2015, and he survives her in Patoka.

Along with her husband, Marty, survivors that will hold many wonderful memories of Mitzi include her beloved family, her children, Whitney Murray of Salem, Tyson (Lindsey) Murray of Woodlawn; step-children, Colby Isaak, Megan Strieker, Brittany Isaak, Brandi (Quinn) Wadkins, and Taylor Isaak; grandchildren, Emmie Jo, Jake, Phoebe, Liam, Lilly, Macklin, and Lorelai; step-grandchildren, Reed, Sophia, and Hadley; brother, Greg (Chrissy) Sprehe of Salem; sisters, Paula (Tim) Moore of Sandoval, Tracey (Scott) Garden of Salem, GiGi (Barry) Baker of Centralia, Kathy (Norm) Nissling of Florida; mother-in-law, Carolyn Isaak; her beloved dog, Tebow; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her father, Fritz Sprehe; her mother Maria Bates; her stepfather, Larry Bates; her stepbrother, Bub Bates; and her father-in-law, Rich Isaak.

Mitzi was a proud graduate of Patoka High School, Class of 1988, where she made many lasting friendships. While attending high school she also attended the School of Cosmetology in Centralia and was able to brighten her client’s day with her witty personality, while making their hair look amazing. Mitzi enjoyed her 32 years of being a cosmetologist, working beside her sister, Tracey at Headquarters For Hair and then the last 5 years at Off Broadway Salon in Salem. Mitzi attended the Church of the Nazarene in Salem.

She was active in her community and a member of the Patoka American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. Mitzi‘s favorite pastime was going to Conservation Lake and staying in their camper with her husband, cooking out &  having a bonfire with friends and family! She loved having big get-togethers, and always wanted to be around family & friends! She absolutely loved spending time on the lake, soaking in the sun, and sharing some great laughs with family and friends. Mitzi was a force to be reckoned with and she was a fierce provider and protecter for her family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at noon. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Salem Grace Nazarene Church. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time with her family, where good memories and fun stories can be shared along with words of comfort and support, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mitzi’s honor to her Family’s Wishes making checks payable to Tyson Murray.
