Barbara Jean Martin, 82, of Centralia, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her home. She was born on December 6, 1942, the daughter of Thomas and Lillian (Green) Bryant in Hobbs, NM.

Survivors include her beloved family, her children, John Martin of Centralia, Susan Petrea of Centralia; cherished grandchildren, Dianna Petrea, Erica Petrea, Michael (Ginny) Petrea, Tyler Petrea, Jacob (Bethany) Martin; precious great-grandchildren, Adaliee, Tristan, Grayden, Kaiser, Nashawn, Kaylem, Jaysleynn, Cayde, and Azlynn; sister, Mary Baugh of Warden, IL; brother-in-law, Floyd Griffin of Hobbs, NM; special nephews, Russell (Kim) Baugh, Doug Baugh, and Wade Baugh; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John Bryant, Nora “Sissy” Griffin, Ja-net Holder, Janice Bible, Joan’ Wilson, and Harold Bryant; brother-in-law, Don Baugh; and sister-in-law, Ruth Bryant.

Barbara was a diligent worker and a loyal employee of St. Mary’s Hospital, where she printed medical forms, A-Line Printing, and Rose Printing, until her retirement. She was an active member of Tri-City Church of Christ, serving the children of the church through VBS and teaching Sunday school. Barbara was a true St. Louis Cardinals fan through and through. She tried to never miss a game, cheering on her beloved Cards from the comfort of her recliner. Barbara was so blessed to be a Grandma to her amazing grandchildren. She expressed her deep love and pride for them by being ever present, attending all their games and activities, offering warm hugs and a listening ear. Barbara was a wonderful lady of faith who lived her life thinking of others before herself and her kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 20024, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 12:00 p.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home in Centralia.
