A new President has taken over at the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce.
The HR manager at Bettendorf-Stanford Laura Daugherty, who also owns her own business Laura’s Crafty Things, has taken the gavel from Country Financial Agent Tony Eitner who has finished his year as president.
Daughtery talked about her goals.
“Mostly just working together with all the board members we have. We’re looking forward to the year with a lot of good stuff planned. Just try and keep us on track and keep us moving forward. We hope to grow the membership a little more. We have some folks out there who are not part of the membership that we would like to snag. That’s the plan.”
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jessica Coleman says the chamber is planning to continue most of its events for another year including the Sheeo Spring and Fall Conferences to help females in the community to be able to learn from each other and grow their careers, the annual membership Golf Outing which is set for May 17th, and Applefest on September 14th. Coleman says they will also continue to push to shop local, especially during the holiday season.
Two new directors were also introduced at Thursday’s monthly chamber luncheon. They are Terri Mearns of Zyactive Wear and Sieretha Howe who runs a professional notary business and is a real estate agent for Midwest Farm and Land.
