A Centralia home was damaged in an early Wednesday morning fire.

The fire was in the attic of the Ashley Wright and Kyle Rogers home at 319 North Sycamore Street.   It is believed to be electrical in nature.  The two owners and two children all were out of the home without injury upon the fire department’s arrival.

Centralia fire officials say the family had an electrical problem Tuesday night and had turned off a breaker and went to bed.   One of them smelled smoke this morning and called the fire department because they thought there was a fire in a wall.

Firemen say they found the smoldering fire in the attic when gaining entry through the ceiling.   While there was substantial damage to the attic area, there was no fire or smoke damage in the living area.

Since the home was not livable until repairs can be made, the Red Cross was called to assist the family.

All available Centralia Firemen were called to the scene.   The fire call came in at 5:28 Wednesday morning.  Firemen cleared the scene at 7:12 Wednesday morning.
